A little known fact is that no other agency in the world employs more mental health specialists or conducts more research on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder than the Department of Veterans Affairs. This website www.mentalhealth.va.gov is one of the best resources for information regarding anything to do with mental fitness that we have found. Items included are PTSD (including an anonymous self screening tool), vet homelessness, substance abuse, returning war veterans help, etc...
Also, for each category there are descriptions of services the VA and their partner organziations offer. There are too many resources on this site to fit on our website page so please check this out for yourself, a family member, veteran or non veteran.
If you are a Veteran who is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, you can contact the National VA Call Center at 1-877-424-3838, or contact VA online through the Homeless Veterans Chat service.
